Artist's Comments

After seeing ~artgeza-II's (aka Kotik) bold white on black 'speednudes' I decided to try to create something similar. I'll say this: it's not as easy as it looks. With pencil the question is always: to smudge or not to smudge. I think I made the wrong decison.

This was drawn with *mjranum's "Duty" as a reference.

White pastel pencil on black card. About 3 hours work.

Wow!! That's nice!!

I photograph because I simply don't have the ability to draw or paint (I tried)... If I could do this kind of stuff I wouldn't be a photographer at all..

Thankyou! It's way too rough, but I guess it's only 3 hours work.
Your photos are wonderful and (with your permission of course) I'd like to use many more of them in the future.

That's fine - sketches and stuff like that are always OK. :)

This is really great. I wouldn't consider it "too" rough. If you don't full view, it looks perfect.
I love working in the negative, but for me it's too hard without reference.

Just have a look through *mjranum's or *Renoux's or *ABrito's gallery, and you'll find PLENTY of reference material for 'negative work' (especially if you crank up the contrast in Photoshop).
